My Mommy

Melissa woke up to use the bathroom, and as I rediapered her she said, "My diaper, not baby's diaper."

"Yes that's your nighttime diaper."

I tucked her in, "My bed, not baby's bed."

"Uh huh. Melissa's bed."

"MY Mommy, not baby's Mommy."

Problem. (And the baby is not even here yet!)

"I'm Melissa's Mommy, and Matthew's Mommy, AND baby's Mommy."

"And Daddy's wife," she added.

"Yes, and Daddy's wife. Goodnight 'Lissa. Mama loves you."

She curled up in her bed, content.

Sweet dreams my girl...

Possibly the seed for this was the pre-bedtime conversation where we mentioned that if it's a boy baby, he will share Matthew's room, and if it is a girl baby, she will share Melissa's room.
