We took Isaac off of insulin last night to see how his pancreas would do (so his last dose of Lantus was yesterday morning). I checked his glucose throughout the night and he had terrific numbers so this morning we again skipped his regular shot. So far his beta cells have kept up, and he is doing very well!
Transient Neonatal Diabetes Mellitus. He is growing out of it!!!

That is great.
That had to have been a nail biter.
Now you have more infant diabetes experience than most physicians....You should write a manual: How to keep hospitals from draining your child of blood.
You could even send it and a petition to hospitalto change their policy so future cases will be treated better.
